    Yves, who are you in a few words?

    I am currently the CEO of Protectas, but I joined the company on April 26, 1985, at the age of 22 as a security guard. This year, I am celebrating my 40th anniversary with the company!

    I will turn 62 in September, and I realize I have spent nearly three-quarters of my life ensuring the safety of others. A true human and professional adventure.

    How were your beginnings in security?

    Back then, everything was very basic. We didn’t have mobile phones, internet, or digital tools. Requests and information came by mail, which we opened every morning with the team. Then came the fax before the first computer tools. Today, we have an ultra-modern technological ecosystem. It was a completely different world, but this evolution has been exciting to experience.

    Did you ever imagine building a career in this field?

    Not at all! My initial goal was to join the Lausanne Hotel School, but being on a waiting list for two to three years, I took on various jobs.

    I had completed military service and taken business courses. Security was meant to be a temporary step, but it became my calling! My parents initially doubted this path, which makes me smile today when I look back on the journey.

    What still motivates you today?

    Above all, it’s the meaning of our mission. We play a central role in everyday security, and our slogan “We help make your world a safer place” truly reflects that.

    Every day, our teams on the ground engage with professionalism. It is this usefulness, this concrete contribution, that continues to drive me.

    How have you evolved within Protectas?

    I started as an auxiliary security guard with varied assignments: armed services, VIP escorts, operational management, then I focused more on operations and sales. After seven years, I took on more responsibilities at the Geneva branch, then became deputy director and later director. These roles allowed me to develop our commercial and operational activities.

    In 2005, I was appointed CEO for Switzerland. Under my leadership, our turnover grew significantly. In 2018, we created a Protectas department in Italy, and since January 2025, I have also been contributing my experience to our Securitas AB entity in Austria.

    A rewarding and exciting role that allows me to coordinate our strategy across multiple markets.

    What challenges have marked you?

    Technological transformations have been a major challenge but also a great opportunity. We had to support our teams through these changes while ensuring growth amid strong competition. Maintaining quality service despite these changes is a constant demand. These challenges could not have been met without the commitment of our employees.

    What message would you like to send to employees, especially newcomers?

    Never give up, even when the path seems difficult. Let your passion, values, and goals guide you. This profession is demanding but deeply rewarding. There are great opportunities for growth for those who fully invest themselves.

    Any final words for your teams and loved ones?

    I want to warmly thank all my teams in Switzerland, Austria, and Italy, as well as all my past and present colleagues.
