Sugeevan Guy de Fontgaland, Accountant, Lausanne
Since joining Protectas just over four years ago, Sugeevan has gradually specialized in Protectas Technology. Today, he is responsible for the company's accounting and works closely with the Controlling team. His career reflects adaptability, versatility, and a strong collaborative spirit.
Who are you in a few words?
My name is Sugeevan, I am 41 years old, married, and the father of three children.
I am an accountant at DG and have been specifically working with Protectas Technology for just over three years.
What motivated you to work at Protectas?
What motivated me first was the job description, as well as the good feeling I had during the first phone call and later during the meeting with my managers and the team.
Can you tell us about your beginnings at Protectas?
At the beginning, I had a bit of difficulty finding my rhythm with the four companies (Protectas, Protectas Aviation Security, Protectas Technology et Safehome).
Later, there were several changes within the team, which led to me being increasingly assigned to the technology companies.
And now, what are you responsible for?
I am currently responsible for Protectas Technology, following the merger between Electronic and Safehome.
I handle accounting as well as ongoing work in collaboration with Controlling.
What do you like most about your job?
What I enjoy most in my job is the variety of tasks, the contact with people, working with numbers, and the team atmosphere.
I also appreciate my colleagues, the working environment, and the tools provided.
What is your biggest challenge and how do you deal with it?
The main challenge is staying well organized during closing periods.
During these times, various tasks must be completed quickly in order to submit the figures to management and to the Group.
To manage this, we use checklists and structured processes that help us stay organized and efficient.
Which value speaks to you the most and why? (Integrity, Vigilance, Helpfulness)
I would say integrity, because I notice that both within our team and across the company, everyone is welcome.
There is no judgment or difficulty in integrating new people, regardless of their background.
What advice would you give to women who want to work in security?
I don’t have a specific piece of advice, but I am convinced that today no profession should be reserved for one gender.
As the father of two daughters, I especially pass on this message to them: follow their passions, believe in their abilities, and never set limits for themselves.
It would be a shame to give up a vocation simply because it is still perceived as “male-dominated.” Everyone should be free to choose their own path.
Whether you are experienced or new to the industry, we are constantly looking for talents and skills to strengthen our teams. Check out our job openings!
