Mission Protectas: Corinne Ryter

Who are you in a few words? 

I’m Corinne, a person full of passion and contrasts. I love diving into different worlds: the raw and emotional energy of metal is as much a part of me as the quiet moments in nature, where I find peace and recharge. Animals are especially close to my heart. They ground me and remind me of what truly matters. 

I’m curious, empathetic, and deeply connected to my values. I quickly get excited about new ideas, pour my heart into my projects, and always strive to make a meaningful impact through my actions. 

What motivated you to work at Protectas? 

I’m fascinated by the versatility of the security industry: the diverse clients and sectors, as well as the varied tasks behind the scenes. This mix of structure, dynamism, and responsibility makes working at Protectas particularly exciting for me. 

Can you tell us about your beginnings at Protectas?

My start was anything but conventional. It was more like a plunge into cold water. But that’s exactly what shaped me: I was able to explore different areas early on, from construction site surveillance to deployment planning and public order services. 

Soon after, I was able to optimize processes, train employees, and take on responsibility. These experiences were a valuable learning ground and showed me how important flexibility, initiative, and perseverance are. 

What are your current responsibilities?

Today, I work in Operations Support and Project Management, mainly in German-speaking Switzerland. I support various projects: from process optimization and the introduction of new work tools to planning and supporting major operations. I work closely with the Operations Director, operational teams, and other departments to make processes more efficient and practical. 

Over the years, I’ve taken on many roles at Protectas: deployment planning, sales support, department head, project coordination... This diversity has given me a deep understanding of our organization, our employees, and our clients. 

Thanks to this broad experience, I can connect different levels – from daily operations to strategic planning – and build bridges where needed. 

What do you like about your job? 

The variety! No day is like the other. I work with very different people, clients, and projects. From strategic thinking to concrete implementation, I can use my organizational strengths and work creatively on further improvements. 

What has been your biggest challenge and how do you handle it?

The biggest challenge is often juggling many projects at once. A clear structure, good self-organization, and constant communication help me with that. Thanks to my experience, I know the internal processes well, have built a broad network, and enjoy the trust needed to carry out projects independently. 

Which value resonates most with you and why? (Integrity, Vigilance, Helpfulness) 

Helpfulness. For me, helpfulness is a central value, both professionally and personally. It means not only looking out for your own well-being but also supporting others, finding solutions together, and standing up for each other. In a world where self-interest often comes first, I see helpfulness as a strength that connects teams and creates real cohesion. 

How do you experience being a woman in your profession? 

Throughout my career, I’ve had various experiences: from skepticism to great recognition. What’s important to me is staying authentic, highlighting my strengths, and convincing through competence. Today, I see it as an asset to work as a woman in an industry that has long been male-dominated. Diversity strengthens teams and fosters new perspectives.

What advice would you give to women who want to work in security? 

Be yourself. Lead in your own way: empathetic, clear, structured, or creative – this diversity is valuable. Don’t let yourself be unsettled, but highlight your strengths. And above all: speak openly. Only then can things change. The security sector needs people with heart, conviction, and courage.
