Mission Protectas: Alejandra Mateo

Who are you in a few words? 

I’m passionate about wellness and health. I’m an enthusiastic person, driven by the desire to grow as an individual. Every day, I’m inspired by the idea that even small actions can contribute to a better world. 

What motivated you to work at Protectas? 

During the group recruitment session I attended in 2018, I was immediately touched by the company’s values, particularly integration and inclusiveness. I felt a genuine respect for the individual, which made me want to fully commit myself. 

Can you tell us about your beginnings at Protectas? 

I started as a reception officer in international corporate settings. This role gave me the opportunity to discover very diverse professional environments. Working in such varied contexts taught me how to adapt quickly and broaden my understanding of the job. 

What is your current role? 

I am the Group Leader for reception services in French-speaking Switzerland. I supervise field teams, ensure service quality, and act as a bridge between our clients and our staff. 

What do you enjoy most about your job? 

Human interaction. Every day I meet people from different backgrounds, which allows me to keep learning, about others and about myself. That human richness is truly inspiring. 

What is your biggest challenge, and how do you handle it? 

Some clients can be very demanding, which means I often have to balance their expectations with the needs of our agents. When I succeed in finding that balance, it’s very rewarding. 

Which company value speaks to you the most, and why? 

Integrity, without a doubt. To me, it’s the foundation of any trusting relationship. In a fast-changing world, integrity brings stability and meaning. 

What is it like to be a woman in your field? 

At Protectas, I’ve never felt any difference based on gender. Relationships are built on respect and fairness. The security sector may have been seen as male-dominated in the past, but that’s changing and here, everyone has a place. 

What advice would you give to women who want to work in security? 

Trust your instincts. The industry is evolving, and women absolutely belong here. If you love to learn, grow, and help create a more human environment, this career could be a perfect fit for you.
