As a franchise business, XCELERATE GYMS works closely with its franchisees to maximize opportunities in a modern, post-Covid society where health and fitness have become central issues. Since the opening of its first club in Edgware in May 2021, XCELERATE GYMS has pursued ambitious expansion plans to establish its extended fitness model across the United Kingdom and in international markets – with an impressive pipeline of new clubs set to open in 2024.
The story in brief
In collaboration with Kawasaki, Securitas developed a risk-based approach and leveraged its full service portfolio to increase security while reducing costs.
XCELERATE GYMS is a new, family-friendly fitness franchise. With its first franchisees in the UK, the management team was looking for a comprehensive, innovative yet affordable security solution for every gym in its growing network.
We installed a state-of-the-art remote monitoring system with innovative audio features, supported by continuous maintenance and management. Mobile patrols and keyholding services are also part of the package.
Franchisees can spread the costs for installation and equipment over three years in monthly installments – without high upfront investments.
With expansion plans across the UK, as well as into Europe and Asia, our national coverage and international network were decisive factors in choosing Securitas as their preferred security partner.
Balancing cost and performance
With its growing presence in the fitness market, XCELERATE GYMS needed a robust yet flexible security solution for its franchise network. After thorough consultation, we developed a scalable approach that ensures consistency and efficiency across all sites.
Our all-in-one solution includes a remote monitoring system with audio integration, enabling rapid response to alarms or intrusions.

Given the ambitious expansion plans, we designed a system adaptable to the needs of each location – whether in the UK or abroad. Mobile patrols, regular maintenance, and a scalable monitoring system allow franchisees to focus on their members while we take care of their security.

Achieving comprehensive coverage
The upgraded CCTV system with radar and thermal imaging technology enabled a 64% reduction in on-site guard hours by switching to remote monitoring. Our SOC staff can quickly assess and respond to incidents – either through audible warnings or by dispatching a mobile patrol. This significantly reduced security gaps and improved site and staff protection.
Additionally, electronic folding gates with automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) facilitate vehicle access, while security personnel remain on site during business hours – supported by irregular mobile checks. The reduction in guard hours generates substantial savings, especially given rising labor costs. The new measures allow Kawasaki to spread costs over five years while saving an expected 30% annually for ten years.
