A state-of-the-art security solution
With valuable vehicles outdoors and expensive equipment in the workshop, the main security risks for this Motus Commercials site are theft and fire. Previously, the company relied on our guarding services outside business hours.
During a routine business review, we recommended switching to a remote monitoring solution. The business case was compelling: significant cost savings alongside 24/7 protection – not just at weekends.
After a thorough analysis, we developed a proposal and technical specification based on our Remote Video Solution (RVS). This video surveillance service combines digital CCTV technology with remote monitoring by specially trained officers in the Securitas Operations Centre (SOC). It is a fully managed package: we lease the security equipment to the customer over a five-year term, taking responsibility for installation and on-site maintenance during that period.
Real-time response
In the event of an intrusion or fire alarm, the SOC team can immediately assess the situation via the digital camera stream. They can then take proactive action, issuing an audio warning through the system to deter potential intruders or thieves. The remote solution is supported by our keyholding and alarm response services. If needed, a mobile response team can be dispatched for further investigation.
This was a decisive factor, as Gus McMillan, Service Manager at the site, explains:

Beyond securing the site outside business hours, the CCTV solution offers an additional benefit: recording activity during working hours.
“There was an incident on the premises where a vehicle was damaged, and the video footage allowed us to reconstruct what had happened,” confirms McMillan. “The presence of the cameras has also encouraged more responsible behavior on-site.”
