Mission Protectas: Yannik Schuler

Who are you in a few words? 

My name is Yannik Schuler, I am 32 years old and I live in Central Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Lucerne. 

I am a positive and reliable person who values teamwork, openness, and new challenges.

What motivated you to work at Protectas? 

What particularly motivates me about Protectas is its commitment to maintaining consistently high security standards. Behind this commitment are clear structures, a strong focus on quality, and highly capable teams. 

For me, security is not just a task, it is a responsibility that must be actively managed and continuously improved. It was precisely this environment, where people can make a real impact and help shape standards, that convinced me to join Protectas.

Can you tell us about your beginnings at Protectas? 

I started my career at Protectas at the age of 22 as a Security Officer. 

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to continuously develop my skills and take on increasing levels of responsibility. 

Thanks to the wide range of opportunities within Protectas, I was able to discover different aspects of the security industry and actively contribute to their development. These growth opportunities and the diversity of experiences I gained have had a lasting impact on my professional journey within the company.

What are you responsible for today? 

Today, as Branch Manager Mobile, I am responsible for the development of our mobile services across German-speaking Switzerland, with a strong focus on quality, structure, and continuous improvement. 

Together with my team, I work to optimize processes, enhance our services, and ensure that we consistently deliver reliable and professional solutions to our customers.

What do you enjoy about your job? 

What I appreciate most is working with people, both within my team and with our customers. 

I am motivated by developing solutions together and ensuring that our services are delivered reliably and to the highest standards. 

The combination of operational challenges, strategic development, and collaboration with a wide range of people makes my role particularly rewarding and engaging.

What is your biggest challenge and how do you manage it? 

One of the greatest challenges in my role is balancing the different expectations of customers, employees, and operational requirements. 

In the security industry, decisions often need to be made quickly, while maintaining a consistently high level of quality at all times. 

I address this challenge through clear structures, open communication, and close collaboration with my team. It is important for me to anticipate solutions, remain pragmatic, and maintain an overall view of the situation. 

I do not see challenges as problems, but rather as opportunities to improve processes and grow stronger together.

Which value resonates with you the most and why? (Integrity, Vigilance, Helpfulness) 

The value I identify with the most is integrity. 

For me, integrity means being reliable, taking responsibility, and acting with fairness, transparency, and consistency—even in difficult situations. 

In our industry, trust is essential, and integrity is the foundation on which that trust is built. 

What advice would you give to women who would like to work in the security sector? 

My advice to women interested in working in the security sector is to pursue this path with confidence. 

What truly matters is not gender or stereotypes, but professionalism, reliability, and the willingness to take responsibility.
